The High Five: February Favorites So Far
Five things I’m loving this month, from eggs to albatrosses (yes, really).
It’s time for The High Five, my monthly pick of five favorite things. Whether it’s something I bought, something I watched, or just a piece of news that made me smile, I’m bringing you my best of the month, so far. It’s a moment to be reminded of all the good stuff happening in the middle of it all.
The best things I did this month: met with my mastermind group in person
I’m in a mastermind group with five other incredible content creators, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these women. I owe the re-relaunch of My Internet Besties to them:

A mastermind is basically a mini board of directors for your life, where a small group meets regularly to help each other brainstorm, problem-solve, and keep one another accountable. It's a place to share wins, struggles, and ideas, and the feedback I’ve gotten from these dear friends has been really good for my creativity, work, and soul. I’m so grateful for their advice and encouragement. Meeting together in person this month was exactly the rocket fuel I needed!
Best thing I bought this month: a rapid egg cooker
Okay, I have to admit, I’m usually the person who rolls my eyes at single-use appliances. But this egg cooker? Game-changer. I’m in love with jammy eggs (“in this economy?!”), but I hate cooking on the stove. I can never get the timing right. I have tried every method, but my eggs were never consistent. Enter: this egg cooker. It’s been a total win. I can set it and run out of the room until it chimes its cute little song, and it makes perfect medium-boiled eggs every single time in about ten minutes. My go-to lunch these days is two eggs with half a cup of full-fat cottage cheese, flaked salt, ground pepper, a drizzle of honey, and a spoonful of spicy chili crisp oil. My mouth is watering as I type this, and I have the egg cooker to thank for making lunch something I look forward to every day.

Best book I read this month: Unreasonable Hospitality
Jamie Golden and my husband Cap both recommended this book to me. There are no two people in my life who are more opposite than Jamie and Cap, so when they both recommended it, I got the hardcopy AND the audiobook immediately (← mainly because I keep forgetting to cancel my Audible account). The book is all about going above and beyond to create incredible experiences for others, not just in business, but in life. It’s inspiring, practical, and a refreshing POV on hospitality and generosity. Plus, it’s an easy listen, perfect for long car rides, or, in my case, ferrying kids around. I can’t imagine another book being this impactful on me and my work as this one has been already. I should have read it when I first saw it on The Bear.

Best news I heard this month: an old bird is still making babies
This one fills my heart with so much joy! The world’s oldest bird, a 74-year-old albatross named Wisdom, has hatched another baby. Yes, you read that right: 74 years old! I mean, first of all, can we talk about how impressive it is that this bird has lived through decades of flying and weathering the elements? She lost her mate a few years ago, but did a mating dance and got a new one and they made a baby! I’ve been collecting stories that remind me, “You’re not too old and it’s not too late” and this is the latest.
Best thing I saw on TikTok this month:
I bet most of you are this funny! We need to go thrift store shopping together one day!
THIS MONTH’S REMINDER:
TONIGHT we’re meeting on Google Meet at 9 pm ET to discuss one of my favorite comedies, Bridesmaids! This is for ANYONE interested in joining The Best Club, and you do not have to be on camera unless you want to. Our meeting links is:

See you then!
I’d love to hear about YOUR February favorites, so far! Read anything worth reading? Heard an inspiring news story? Saw something that made you LOL? What’s been good online this month?
Thanks for the pop of fun in my dreary Thursday morning inbox!
